Bye Eastie!

Total bittersweet moment now thinking that the end of my time has come with East Boston High School. The East Boston scholars are phenomenal students and people. I am really excited to see where they go to college and how they continue to flourish and grow. They are all in the final stretch and really trying to end on a strong note. Keep up the good work and best of luck to them all and I will miss you!

Happy Graduation!!!

Quiet Week

It's been a pretty quiet week this past week as the internship is winding down. Last week the students had the chance to go to Dave and Busters with myself and the Raymond intern, Jake. Pam showed up and we had a blast winning tickets and prizes. We played Wheel of Fortune, Zombie Apocalypse, Dance Dance Revolution and many other games until we were sweating and our arms sore. The food at Dave and Busters was awesome and put us all in a food coma.

In news about school many of the students are making strides to bring up there grades and maintain good ones. Special shout out to Ke'Andre for bringing up his AP Calculus grade. In the field of drams a shout out to Alex (and her drama club) who debuted her play with the rest of the drama club. Although they didn't not win their competition they did a phenomenal job and should be quite proud.

Finally a big shout out to Jakara who has finished her high school education and thus graduated early! Great work girl!!!!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back Eastie to another warm week of academic success!!! We had a lot of achievements this week but first for the recap.

During break a few of the students and myself gathered to see Deadpool at Showcase in Revere. The students thoroughly enjoyed the reclining seats and the funnel cake, popcorn and hot dogs.

Yesterday we had news of college admissions for Ke'Andre, Miguel and JP so huge CONGRATULATIONS to them!!

Coming up tomorrow myself and the Raymond intern are taking the students to Dave and Busters for early dinner and games! We are really looking forward to it as are many of the students.

The term is wrapping up for me the SEAD intern so hoping all students have enjoyed spending time with me and SEAD!!

The end of Quarter 1 has finally come and the seniors are buckling down for the final stretch. Many of the students are working to makeup assignments and and study for their final exams. The students are in the final throws of completing all FASFA and CSS profiles and although many of them are tired of the college application process they are really finishing up strong. I am really proud of the work that all the students are doing, they are really putting their best foot forward.

Many of the students are looking forward to the the small reunion myself and the Raymond Intern are planning at Dave and Busters the weekend of February 20th.
